Halina Dzwolak
Bridgewater- Halina Dzwolak, 81, passed away on Tuesday, September 14, 2021 at her home in Bridgewater, NJ. Halina was born in 1940 in Wilno, Poland. She was orphaned as a young girl when her parents were lost during World War II. Halina spent several years in an orphanage until her oldest sister, Irena was of legal age to care for her. In 1946, Halina and her sisters relocated to Gdansk, Poland where she spent her adolescent years and later got married in 1964 in Sopot. Halina with her then-husband, Andrew raised their beloved son, Michael in the Przymorze neighborhood of Gdansk until immigrating to the United States in 1979. While in Poland, Halina worked as a technician in a blood lab.
Halina came to the US, Finderne neighborhood of Bridgewater, NJ with Michael when she was 39 and he was 8 years old. Halina parlayed her lab experience into a successful career with Schering-Plough, Kenilworth, NJ as a Quality Control Manager. She would work at Schering for 20+ years until her eventual retirement. Halina enjoyed her time there and felt fortunate to have colleagues and friends, including several polish-speaking friends!
Halina was extremely thoughtful and had an incredible memory. She never missed a birthday or an occasion to send a greeting card. In her spare time, Halina enjoyed time with her grandsons, talking with old friends in Poland, shopping and her favorite TV show, “Dancing with the Stars.” Halina was a loving and devoted mother, aunt, grandmother and friend and will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
She is predeceased by her parents, Waclaw and Eugenia Frackiewicz, and her sisters Dana and Irena Frackiewicz.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory her son, Michael Dzwolak and wife, Christine; grandsons, Devin and John, her niece Barbara Ginet and her cousin Irena Kutbay.
