Giovanni Manilio

Bridgewater, NJ – Giovanni Manilio, 93, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 18, 2025, at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Atella, Italy, to the late Arturo and Marianna Manilio, Giovanni immigrated to the United States in 1968. He settled in Bound Brook and later made Bridgewater his home for the past 26 years.

A skilled mason and carpenter, Giovanni worked for GAF and Gibson Tube and continued his craft well into his 80s. He took great pride in his work, known for his dedication, precision, and strong work ethic.

He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Maria Carmela, and siblings Assunta, Lucia, Maria, and Luigi. Giovanni is survived by his devoted children: his son, Arturo Manilio and wife Anna, and his daughter, Marianna Manilio and husband Elmer (Arcelo). He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren, Carmelina and her husband Bob (Geiger), Giovanni, and Artie, as well as his treasured great-grandchildren, Gia and Gabriel.

A proud Italian, Giovanni was a passionate Napoli soccer fan. He found joy in following his team, sharing in the victories and heartaches with the same deep loyalty and enthusiasm he gave to his family and friends.

Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, August 21, 2025, from 4:00–7:00 PM at the Bridgewater Funeral Home, 707 East Main Street, Bridgewater, NJ 08807.

Prayers will be offered at 9:00 AM on Friday, August 22, 2025, at the funeral home, followed by a 10:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial at Immaculate Conception Church in Somerville. Entombment will follow at St. Bernard’s Cemetery in Bridgewater.
