Bridgewater- George Wendling, 78, died peacefully on Monday, October 1,  2019 at Morristown Medical Center. Son of the late John and Julia Wendling, George was born in Bronx, NY and lived in West Paterson before moving to Bridgewater, NJ 20 years ago. George was a sheet metal worker for Local 28 in NYC. He is survived by his beloved wife of over 20 years, Kathy Wendling of Bridgewater; children, John Wendling and wife, Stephanie of Jefferson Twp, Leigh Wendling of San Francisco; step - children, Gussy Hyra and husband, Greg of Brielle, Abby Dawley and husband, John of PA, Betsy Giamo and husband, Chris of NY; grandchildren, Ethan, Riley, Matthew, Jack, Olivia, Christian, Ian, Cara, Patrick, Daniel and Juli; great-grandchildren, Hudson, Sawyer, Cole, Grant and Annabelle. Visiting hours will be held from 2-4 and 7-9 PM on Thursday, October 3, 2019 at the Bridgewater Funeral Home, 707 East Main Street, Bridgewater, NJ 08807. A graveside service will be held 11AM Friday, October 4, 2019 at Glendale Cemetery, 28 Hoover Avenue, Bloomfield, NJ 07003.
