George F. Runyon, II., 79, died peacefully at home on Wednesday, July 6, 2022. Son of the late George F. Runyon, Sr. and Leila May Runyon, George was born in Somerville.  He lived in South Bound Brook, Hillsborough and the last 10 years in Manville. He worked as a bartender for the Southside Grill in South Bound Brook for many years and GAF in South Bound Brook as a pipefitter.
 
He was predeceased by his children, James C. Runyon, Cynthia A. Runyon and Brian L. Runyon, sister Donna M. Runyon and brother Charles D. Runyon. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his beloved bride of 46 years, Suzanne Runyon of Manville; children, Debra L. Klosowski of Milford, DE., George F. Runyon, III. of Flemington, Leeanne L. Siana (Michael J. Anzivino) of Hillsborough, Heather P. Ruderer (James) of Hillsborough; siblings, Patricia A. Franzyshen of South Bound Brook, James R. Runyon (Pauline) of Lincoln, DE, and Kathleen Runyon of Branchburg.  He is also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
 
George was an above average golfer; a proud achievement of his was a hole in one he made at Spooky Brook Golf Course in 1991. When he wasn’t golfing, he was cooking a delicious meal for his family, working on a crossword puzzle or assembling a jigsaw puzzle which he would frame and hang in the “Art Gallery” in his garage. He was also an avid Mets fan. George especially enjoyed playing six-handed Rummy with grandsons Gabe, Jonas, Joey and Ian and his sister Patti.
 
Visiting hours will held from 4-7pm on Monday, July 11, 2022 at the Bridgewater Funeral Home, 707 East Main Street, Bridgewater, NJ 08807. Prayers will be said 10 AM on Tuesday, July 12, 2022 at the funeral home followed by burial at Bound Brook Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or Shriners Hospital for Children.
