Bridgewater – Frederick W. Lowande, 92, passed away on Monday, June 16, 2025 at Hunterdon Medical Center. Frederick was born in North Plainfield, NJ to the late Albert and Rosella Lowande. Frederick grew up in the Plainfield area and was a proud graduate of North Plainfield High School. Following graduation, he enlisted in the United States Army and served honorably during the Korean War. Upon returning home, he settled in Bridgewater, where he remained for many decades. Frederick was a talented and thorough mechanic, employed at Dooley Bros. and Mark Chevrolet from local car dealerships to his final employer, Somerset County Public Works with the Road Department. Throughout his 50 plus years as a mechanic, Frederick still found time to enjoy his favorite pastimes, all things automotive, from classic cars to racing, especially NASCAR. He will be greatly missed by family and friends whom he loved spending time with.

 Frederick is predeceased by his beloved wife, Fay Lowande and his son-in-law, Bob Czarnecki.

 He leaves behind to cherish his memories his loving daughter, Linda Lowande; daughter-in-law, Irene Durham; brother, Albert Lowande and his wife, Karen; grandchildren, Michael, Brian, Eric, Brenden, Jennifer, and Holly; and great grandchildren, Mazzy, Camilla, and Benjamin.

Visiting hours will be held from 9AM to 10:30AM, Friday, June 20, 2025 at the Bridgewater Funeral Home, 707 East Main Street, Bridgewater, NJ 08807. Funeral services will be held at 10:30AM Friday at the funeral home followed by burial at Van Liew Cemetery in North Brunswick, NJ.
