Hillsborough-Frederic Charles Gunther, 79, passed away surrounded by his family at home on Monday, November 18, 2024. Fred was born in Somerville, NJ to the late Frederic C. and Josephine (Nelson) Gunther. Fred was a lifelong resident of Hillsborough. After graduating from Somerville High School Fred enlisted into the US Marines Corps.

He enlisted before the war and then served in Vietnam. He was a lifelong farmer who grew up working on his family's dairy and several other local farms before turning to making hay. 

Fred enjoyed spending time with his family, especially during the holidays. He will be greatly missed by family, friends, and those who knew his quirky sense of humor.

Fred leaves behind his daughter, Rebecca Josephine Gunther; son, Frederic Thomas Gunther and his wife, Rebecca; grandchildren, Josephine, Adalee, and FC Henry; former spouse, Rev. Susan Gunther; and siblings, Margaret Tettemer, Shirley Hastings, John Gunther, and Alice Strawser.
