Eugene James Fitzgerald, age 68, of Raritan, New Jersey, passed away on January 3, 2026.

He was born on July 21, 1957, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to Eugene and Geraldine Fitzgerald. He graduated from Bridgewater High School, Class of 1975.

Eugene proudly served in the United States Navy with Attack Squadron Sixty-Six. He enlisted on October 20, 1978, and was honorably discharged in 1982.

He volunteered with the Basilone Memorial Foundation.

Surviving is his wife, Betteann Fitzgerald.

A memorial will be held in the spring of 2026 at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, his final resting place.
