Elizabeth Maj, 76, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 3, 2025, at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital–Somerville.
Born in Englewood, NJ, to the late George and June VanWhy, “Lizzy” lived for many years in Whitehouse Station before moving to Watchung Terrace in Middlesex.
Lizzy worked as an inspector at Osborne Machine Shop in Watchung until her retirement in 2006. She was also a proud member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary Unit 306 in Middlesex.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Marian “Mario” Maj.
Elizabeth is survived by her devoted daughter, Stefanie Maj of Bound Brook; her loving sister, June Manners and husband Berg of Ringoes; as well as extended family and cherished friends who will miss her deeply.
Visiting hours will be held on Monday, June 9, 2025, from 9:00 to 11:00 AM at the Bridgewater Funeral Home, 707 East Main Street, Bridgewater, NJ 08807. A prayer service will begin at 11:00 AM, followed by burial at St. Bernard’s Cemetery in Bridgewater.
