Elizabeth “Lizz” Kurzawa, 64, of Hillsborough, passed away on Saturday August 17, 2024 with her sister, Terry, by her side at Center for Hope Hospice in Scotch Plains, NJ. Lizz was born in Weehawkin, NJ to the late Boleslaw and Anna Kurzawa. She is formerly of Somerville where she resided for over 25 years before moving to Hillsborough over 7 years ago. As a young woman she began her career with the Girl Scouts, Washington Rock Council in Westfield, NJ where she was adored by the children she was in the care of. Later, she became a retail store manager at the Bridgewater Commons mall and continued to become the senior ophthalmologist technician for The Eye Center in Warren, NJ for over 20 years. Lizz retired from New Jersey Brain Care in Martinsville as the office manager. In her spare time, Lizz’s number one favorite thing to do was shopping and “Ladies Who Do Lunch” with close friends and especially with her sister Terry. She will be greatly missed by family and friends.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory her loving sister, Theresa Kurzawa-Kaehlert and many close friends.
Memorial gathering will be from 6-8PM, on Wednesday, August 28, 2024 at the Bridgewater Funeral Home, 707 East Main Street, Bridgewater, NJ 08807 with a memorial service at 7:30PM.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to The American Cancer Society.
