Elizabeth "Barbara" Gorney

Elizabeth "Barbara" Gorney, 85, died peacefully on Tuesday, July 30, 2024. Daughter of the late Frank and Elizabeth Wurtz, Barbara was born and raised in Jersey City and then lived in Bridgewater the past 59 years. She was a 1957 graduate of Snyder High School in Jersey City. She was a homemaker. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her beloved husband of 64 years, Edward W. Gorney; children, Kathleen Tartaglia (Michael), Barbara G. Kolecki; and three cherished grandchildren, Arianna (Ryan Black), Alexis and Ryan. Visiting hours will be held from 3-6PM on Monday, August 5, 2024 at the Bridgewater Funeral home, 707 East Main Street, Bridgewater, NJ 08807. Prayers will be said 9am on Tuesday, August 6, 2024 followed by a 10am funeral mass at Blessed Sacrament Church in Martinsville. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, in her memory.
