Bridgewater Township, Elizabeth Dafgard, 91
Elizabeth (Bette) passed away peacefully at home on May 5th, 2023. She was formerly a resident of Middlesex Borough for many years, before moving to Somerset County.
Before retirement, Bette loved her job as a chef at the former Bucky’s Restaurant in Finderne. After retirement, she worked part-time at Costco in Bridgewater, handling out samples.
Bette was predeceased by her husband, Alfred in 2003; her daughter, Gloria, (Port St. Lucie, Florida) in 2015; her son, Arthur (Chicago, Illinois) in 2017; and her son, Alfred (Spike), (Brick, NJ) in 2019.
Bette is survived by her son, Gary, and his wife, Angel, of Punta Gorda, Florida; and her daughter, Linda and her husband, Francisco Luna of Bridgewater Township. Also, a son-in-law, Carmine Mastromarino (Port St. Lucie, Florida) and daughter-in-law, Linda Mindak (Brick, NJ) and Terri Dafgard (Lake Station, Indiana). She will be missed by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.
Bette attended the First Baptist Church of South Plainfield, NJ.
She enjoyed many trips with her Hamilton, NJ grandson, Billy Maciborski.
In her later years, Bette very much enjoyed being a member of the Adult Day Center of Somerset County in Bridgewater, NJ, where she had many fun times and good friends.
Visitation will be held from 2-4PM & 7-9PM on Wednesday, May 10, 2023 at the Bridgewater Funeral Home, 707 E. Main St., Bridgewater, NJ. Funeral services will be held at 10AM on Thursday, May 11, 2023. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery in E. Millstone.
