Edward D. Leppard
Oak Ridge – Edward D. Leppard, 82, passed away on Wednesday, December 28, 2022 at The Delaney of Bridgewater - Memory Care Unit, in Bridgewater, NJ. Edward was born in Jersey City where he lived until 2001, moving to Ocean Gate upon his retirement and then to Silver Ridge Westerly in Berkeley Township. In 2020, Edward moved to Oak Ridge to be cared for by his daughter.
Edward served in the United States Army Reserve at Fort Dix from 1960 - 1966. He was a print foreman with Colgate-Palmolive in Jersey City until the company closed. After Colgate, Edward worked in maintenance for Provident Bank. While he was residing in Jersey City, he was an active parishioner of Our Lady of Victories Church and performed in the OLV Theater Guild. He was a member of the Ocean Gate Historical Society and Senior Club and played Bocce Ball at the Silver Ridge Westerly Clubhouse. Edward served as Trustee on the Board of Garden State Concerns of Police Survivors Edward enjoyed bowling and gardening. but he will be most remembered for his love of the NY Giants and the NY Mets. He will be greatly missed by family and friends.
Edward is predeceased by his loving wife, Juliana Leppard, his parents, Edward F. and Lucy Leppard (Kenny), his brother, Thomas, his daughter, Linda Starita and son-in-law, Marc Anthony DiNardo.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his beloved children, Doreen Versfelt (Charles), Juliana Leppard (Deborah Kearney), Edward D. Leppard, Jr., and Mary DiNardo (Frank Molina); grandchildren, Melissa, Elise, John, Erica, Kayla, Olivia, Gwendolyn, Marc, Liana, Ella, Leia and Luke, as well as a host of relatives and friends too numerous to mention.
Visiting hours will be held from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m., Friday, January 6, 2023 at the Bridgewater Funeral Home, 707 East Main Street, Bridgewater, NJ 08807 with a service at 6:30PM. A Funeral Mass will be held at Queen of Peace Church in North Arlington, NJ at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 7, 2023. Interment of ashes will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in North Arlington, NJ.
