Dr. Russell Bruce Marion, 81, of Kendall Park, New Jersey died on January 23, 2021. Russell was born in New York, New York and spend most of his life in the New York/New Jersey area.
He attended Bronx Science High School and graduated from University of Buffalo with a major in psychology. He graduated from New York Medical College in 1964. He was a rotating intern at Beth Israel Hospital and a surgical resident also at Beth Israel Hospital. Additionally, he was a plastic surgery resident at the Mayo Graduate School of Medicine and an otolaryngology resident at University Hospitals of Cleveland. He was named Plastic Surgery Chief Resident at the Wayne State University School of Medicine.
Remarkably, he was board-certified in both plastic surgery and otolaryngology.
Russell was in the US Army Reserve, Medical Crops Discharged in 1974.
One of his favorite past times included jewelry making. He converted one of his operating rooms in his office to a jewelry workshop. With his precise surgeon hands, he was able to create many beautiful pieces for his mother, wife, and other loved ones. A love of travel brought Russell and Barbara all over the world. He particularly liked looking for exotic gemstones during these travels for his jewelry making. Another favorite pastime included cooking; Russell loved to try out recipes and perfect them.
His time spent fishing on the St. Lawrence River brought wonderful memories with good friends and stories of his beloved fish.
He is survived by his loving wife, Barbara Kinney Kahora Marion; two sons, Jeffrey Alan Marion (Sherry) of Tempe, Arizona and Roger Keith Marion (Lena) of Basking Ridge, New Jersey; step-daughter, Beth Kahora Taylor (Beau) of Palm Beach, FL. He is survived by one brother, Edward Marion (Alice) of Fairfax, Virginia. He has two grandchildren, four step-grandchildren.
