Somerville - Dorothy Peltack, 95, died peacefully at her home surrounded by her family on Tuesday, October 11, 2022.

Daughter of the late Anthony and Stefania Mielnicki, Dorothy was born in Somerville and lived most of her life in Bound Brook before moving to Somerville in 2004. Dorothy worked in quality control for Ethicon in Bridgewater, retiring in the 1980's. She was a devout Catholic and was very involved with the parish community of St. Mary of Czestochowa Church in Bound Brook. She would often volunteer her time preparing the altar for Sunday mass and special occasions. Dorothy was also a member of the Rosarian Society. 

She enjoyed crocheting, polka music, playing bingo, and going to casinos. She lived a full and happy life and enjoyed sharing those moments with her family and friends.

She was predeceased by her husband, Louis Peltack in 2001; son, Thomas Peltack in 1997; and siblings, Charles Mielnicki, Edward Milenicki, Frank Mielnicki, Tessie Domanski, Mary Petrock and Helen Chudy. She leaves behind to cherish her memory her beloved children, Regina Peltack of Hillsborough, John Peltack of Hillsborough, Luanne McCooe (Jimmy) of PA; grandchildren, Michael Krachun (Trish), Kelly Guarin (Eric), Jason, Heather and John Michael Peltack, Jimmy McCooe, and Stephanie Solberg (Christian); 4 great grandchildren, Ryan, Jessica, Katrina and Jaden; sister, Irene Romano of South Bound Brook; sister-in-law, Sophie Mielnicki of Bound Brook and many nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be held from 8:30AM- 9:30 AM on Friday, October 14, 2022 at the Bridgewater Funeral Home, 707 East Main Street, Bridgewater, NJ 08807 followed by a 10AM Mass at St. Mary's Church in Bound Brook. Burial will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Hillsborough.
