Dorothy Mohr, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on Friday January 3rd, 2025. Born on May 16, 1945, in Middlesex, New Jersey, Dorothy later moved to Somerset, where she graduated from Franklin High School.
Dorothy married the love of her life, Robert W. Mohr, and together they built a beautiful life in Metuchen, where she resided for 59 years. She was predeceased by her husband in 2006, her daughter, Robin Lynn Mohr, her brother, Carl Chandler, and her parents, Rhea and Elenor Chandler.
Dorothy leaves behind her devoted family: her brother, Rhea Chandler and sister-in-law, Donna of Somerset; her daughter, Laurie and son-in-law, Doug Hornsby; her son, Robert W. Mohr Jr. and daughter-in-law, Maureen; and her five cherished grandchildren, Joseph Hornsby, Katelin Hornsby, Ava Lynn Mohr, Robert W. Mohr III, and Jordan Mohr.
Dorothy was known for her tireless dedication to her community. She was employed as the Metuchen Senior Citizen Driver for over 25 years, providing care and support to countless individuals. She always brought kindness and joy to her work.
Dorothy had a deep love for music, especially Elvis Presley, and treasured trips to the casino with friends and family. Her beautiful spirit, warm smile, and kind-hearted nature touched everyone she met.
Dorothy’s memory will be forever cherished by her family, friends, and the countless lives she brightened. She will be deeply missed.
Visiting hours will be 10-11AM, Wednesday, January 8, 2025 at Bridgewater Funeral Home, 707 E. Main St., Bridgewater, NJ 08807 with a funeral service at 11AM. Burial will follow at Franklin Memorial Park in Franklin, NJ.
