Derek Michael Thiry

Derek M. Thiry, 57, passed away on Thursday, March 12, 2026 in Brick, NJ. He was born on September 23,1968 in Livingston, NJ to RoseAnn Thiry and the late Frederick M. Thiry.

He was raised in Warren before moving to Bridgewater in 1991 where he established a business with his brother, Daryl Thiry for the past 35 years. First called Dirt Doctors Painting and Power Washing which later became Thiry Brother’s Home Improvements. For the last 15 years he had reached his goal of renovating and flipping homes. This success led to his dream of buying a home on the water at the Jersey shore in Brick. Derek was happiest when he was on his boat enjoying life with his family, friends and fiancé Kristina.

He is predeceased by his father Frederick Thiry and his sister, Renee Thiry Edwards.

Derek leaves behind his mother, RoseAnn Thiry, his brothers Damon Thiry, Daryl Thiry, sister-in-law Heather Thiry and brother-in-law Jamie Edwards; nieces and nephew, Leah, Jordan, Natalie, Trent, his goddaughter, Samantha and fiancé Kristina Santoro.

Visitation will be on Friday, March 20, 2026 from 11:30AM-2:30PM at the Bridgewater Funeral Home, 707 East Main St., Bridgewater, NJ 08807. Following will be a mass at 3:00 PM at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Martinsville. A repass will be held at 4:30.
