Dawn Dombroski Obituary

Dawn A. Dombroski, 55, passed away on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, at her home in Piscataway, NJ. Dawn was a lifelong resident of Piscataway, where she touched countless lives with her kindness, dedication, and warm spirit.

She received a degree in Elementary Education from Rutgers University. Dawn began her teaching career in Piscataway, spending most of her years at Grandview Elementary School where she was a classroom teacher and a reading specialist. She was a devoted and caring educator, always working tirelessly for the success and well-being of her students. Her passion for teaching and her gentle guidance left a lasting impact on the hundreds of students who passed through her doors in her 28-year career.

In her spare time, Dawn enjoyed traveling. She was an accomplished traveler, visiting nearly all 50 states and more than 30 countries, many of those adventures shared with her beloved travel partner, her mother, Rose. At each location, she would purchase a Christmas tree ornament to commemorate her trip.  A lover of all things Disney, Dawn enjoyed multiple trips to Disneyworld as well as visits to Disneyland and Disney Japan.  She enjoyed days in New York City to see shows, visit museums, or just sight-seeing.  She was always planning fun adventures for weekends and school breaks. She spent countless hours at the beach each summer where she enjoyed riding the waves, playing games on the boardwalk, or getting a nice tan. Dawn was always up for trying something new and loved experiencing each new thing with her friends and family.

Dawn’s love, generosity, and unwavering support were felt by all who knew her. She treasured her time with family and friends, always making space in her life for those she cared about, especially her nephew, Jason, whom she adored.

Dawn will be deeply missed by her family, friends, colleagues, and all whose lives were brightened by her presence.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her loving mother, Rose Hoffman; her brother, Ryan Hoffman, and his wife, Erica; her boyfriend, Tony Bomentre; her beloved nephew, Jason Hoffman, her best friend, whom she considered like a sister, Terri Malloy-Rogus, and her four-legged best friend, Norman.
