David J. McCready, Jr.

 Hillsborough – David J. McCready, Jr., 65, passed away on Sunday, April 10, 2022 at his home in Hillsborough. David was born to the late David, Sr. and Maureen McCready in Fort Ord, CA. He resided in the Bridgewater area for most of his life before recently moving to Hillsborough. David was a US Army veteran and was a security guard for many years at Somerset Medical Center in Somerville. In his spare time, David was an avid fisherman and outdoorsman. David was the Past-President of Somerset County and Past-President of the Central Region of the NJ State Federation of Sportsmen's Clubs. David was a member of the Central Jersey Trout Unlimited (CJTU) chapter of Trout Unlimited and served as a Director on the Chapter’s Board. David was also a longtime member of the NJ State Council of Trout Unlimited where he served as the Delegate, representing CJTU. David was also an active member of the NJ Outdoor Alliance, and a member of Operation Game Theft. He was also a member of the Somerville Elks – 1068 where he held an officer position for many years. David was also an active member of the American Legion Post 12 in Somerville.

He is predeceased by his loving wife, Patricia A. “Trish” McCready who passed away in 2008.

David leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving siblings, Kathleen Bachman and husband, Robert, Mary Beth Asher and husband RJ, Thomas McCready and wife, Joanne, and nieces, Katherine, Kelly and Allyson and nephews, Kyle and Michael.

Visiting hours will be held from 5-7PM on Thursday, May 12, 2022 at the Bridgewater Funeral Home, 707 East Main Street, Bridgewater, NJ 08807.
