David John Ianniello, Sr., 82, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 30, 2023. Son of the late Pasquale and Rose (Aiello) Ianniello, Dave was born in Plainfield, New Jersey on February 3, 1941. The youngest of 10 brothers and sisters, Dave spent much of his youth outdoors and began working as a landscaper alongside his brother, Paul Ianniello. Dave always had a project from repairing heavy machinery to building furniture and everything in-between.
Dave moved to Middlesex in 1965 where he served proudly on the Shade Tree Commission, played softball every Sunday at Seneca Field, was a Middlesex Jaycee and a member of the Knights of Columbus in Dunellen and participated in many town parades and 4th of July celebrations. Dave retired to Hawley, PA, with his wife of 30 years, Patty (Rody) Fuller Ianniello (pre-deceased 2018) where he enjoyed long walks around the lake, his lake friends, watching the wildlife and tinkering outside in his shed, always with one of his loyal dog companions by his side.
Dave is survived by his devoted sister, Rose Sockler, his first wife and mother of his children, Barbara Pellegrino Slein, his three children: Gina (Rob) Cermak, Cheryl (Dave) Zarra and David (Carol) Ianniello, Jr., his six grandchildren: Christopher Cermak, Ericca Cermak, Nicholas Zarra, Angela Zarra, Amanda (Kyle) Vaccaro, Jacob Ianniello, as well as many nieces and nephews.
