Danilo E. Sonido

Danilo E. Sonido, a loving husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on February 21, 2024 at the age of 75. He was born in Manila, Philippines to the late Cecilio Sonido and Leonor Espiridion. He earned his Bachelor of Commerce degree from the Philippine College of Commerce and worked for the Philippine Long Distance Company as a test board operator. In 1974, he met the love of his life, Angelita Haban. Danilo worked in Saudi Arabia for the Saudi Arabia Telephone Company from 1979 to 1980. Angelita and Danilo got married in April 1980 and moved to the United States where they lived in Jersey City, NJ for 22 years. While there, he worked for AT&T, raised his daughter, spent time with his many friends that they made, and eventually looked after his grandkids. In 2003, Angelita and Danilo moved to Union, NJ where he retired. His favorite things to do were singing karaoke, line dancing (and teaching line dancing), and playing mahjong. He spent time DJing at parties and watching his favorite sports teams, the New York Jets, Kansas City Chiefs, Golden State Warriors, and New York Yankees. Most of all, he enjoyed having fun and making memories with his family and loved ones.

He is survived by his loving wife, Angelita Sonido and his daughter, Riane Librojo and her husband, Rey Librojo. He also leaves behind his four grandchildren, Michelle, Christopher, Eric, and Abigail along with grand-dog Roman who all loved and adored their Papa so much.

Danilo is also survived by his sisters, Ettice and Lourdes, along with his nieces, nephews and many godchildren.

He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. 

A mass will be held for Danilo at 10am at St.Bernard of Clairvaux in Bridgewater, NJ (500 US-22, Bridgewater NJ) on Tuesday, February 27 2024. A memorial will be held at Bridgewater Funeral Home (707 Main St, Bridgewater NJ)  from 2pm-4pm on Thursday, February 29 2024. Flowers are very welcome as Danilo loved everything beautiful in life.
