Daniel A. Caporaso
Lebanon- Daniel A. Caporaso, expired peacefully at home surrounded by his sons and wife on Thursday, January 14, 2021. Daniel, age 69, affectionally known to many as “Cap”, was born in Newark and resided in Warren before moving to Readington Township in 1987. A graduate from Watchung Hills High School, Dan obtained his bachelor’s degree in marketing from William Paterson College. Dan was a Manager of Financial Services at Prudential where he received many citations/awards during his 37 years of service. He retired in 2014 and immensely enjoyed retirement with his many friends and family members with whom he engaged in numerous outdoor adventures. He was an avid outdoorsman, began hunting as a child with his father, and was a second generation member of the private Warren County Gun Club, a club he cherished and was actively involved with. His retirement activities included snowmobiling and riding ATV’s in the Adirondacks, gardening, horticulture, being in his pool and enjoying his beloved home in Brantingham Lake, New York with his family. An enthusiastic hobbyist, his collection was vast, including cars, recreational vehicles, music, historical artifacts and attire.
He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him over the course of his life, as he maintained strong bonds of friendship gained during his childhood and adult life. He will be remembered by all for his gentle, kind, fun-loving nature and perpetual zest to enjoy life. He is predeceased by his father, Anthony Caporaso and younger sister, Eleanor Skaar. He is survived by his beloved wife of 34 years, Dr. Kathleen Neville-Caporaso and his two sons, Michael and Thomas Caporaso. He was the loving son of “Doris” Caporaso and brother to Dolores Caporaso, son-in-law to Joan Ingate, and in-law to brothers and sister as well as many nieces, cousins, extended family and friends.
Outdoor Visiting hours will be held from 12-3 PM followed by a celebration of his life with eulogies from 3-4 PM on Sunday, January 17, 2021 at the Bridgewater Funeral Home, 707 East Main Street, Bridgewater, NJ 08807. All funeral services will be predominantly outdoors with strict COVID-19 protocol (masks) followed. A funeral mass will be offered 9:30 AM on Monday, January 18, 2021 at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 390 Rte 523, Whitehouse Station, NJ 08889.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in honor of his memory.
