Bound Brook- Cynthia A. Gabory, 74, died unexpectedly on Monday, January 30, 2023 at her home. Daughter of the late John B. and Angela T. Kline, Cynthia was born in Philadelphia, PA, and lived in Bound Brook for over 50 years. Cynthia was a 1966 graduate of Bridgewater-Raritan High School West. She then went on and received her Bachelor's Degree from Kean University and then her Master's Degree from Gratz College. Cynthia was a teacher for Hillsborough Township and taught 4th grade for many years at Triangle School prior to teaching 5th grade at Auten Road Intermediate School where she retired in 2012. She was a member of the YMCA and township pools where she loved to swim and socialize with her friends. 

Cynthia cared deeply about others. She took pride in her education and encouraged others to complete as much schooling as possible. She loved volunteering as a tutor to help children improve their academic skills and adults learn English as a second language. Cynthia constantly sought to improve the lives of others in any way she could, strangers and family alike. 

Outside of helping others, Cynthia was a ‘snow bird’ during the winter months. She looked forward to seeing her Florida friends who lived in their small community in Gulfport. She loved the beach, being near the ocean, organizing trivia nights, and spending days socializing by the pool. Cynthia was incredibly thankful to her NJ and FL friends and family who looked after her and her husband John.

Cynthia met the love of her life, John P. Gabory, when they were teenagers and remained married until he passed in 2013. She leaves behind to cherish her memory her beloved children, Sherri Bartocci and husband, Al of Raritan, Lori McLain and husband, Tom of Hillsborough; grandchildren, AJ, Tommy, Angela, Mark, Jason, and Jack; sisters, Sharon Gazaway and husband, Bob of Hillsborough, Jackie Angelone and husband, Lynn of Bridgewater; and all her nieces and nephews whose lives she touched. Her family was her world and she meant the world to her family. 

Visiting hours will be held from 4-7PM on Friday, February 3, 2023 at the Bridgewater Funeral Home, 707 East Main Street, Bridgewater, NJ 08807. Funeral services will be held 10AM on Saturday, February 4, 2023 at The Bound Brook Presbyterian Church, 409 Mountain Avenue, Bound Brook, NJ. Entombment will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery in Bridgewater. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to ymca.org, a place where my mother was happy, swimming and socializing with her Y friends.
