Collin J. Zavoda

Collin Zavoda of Bridgewater was 15 when he passed away on Monday, June 10th 2024. Collin spent his first few years in Edison before moving to Bridgewater in 2013. Collin was active in the Bridgewater community playing baseball, club ice hockey and eventually the BRHS varsity team. He was also a ice hockey referee which he enjoyed thoroughly. Last year he helped lead his club hockey team to several tournament finishes including a championship and a run at a state playoff spot. He participated in Boy Scouts from an early age. As a scout he was able to participate in many outdoor adventures including sailing and living on a 60ft sailing vessel around St. Johns VI for 6 nights. He attended Hamilton elementary school, Hillside intermediate, BRMS and was finishing his freshman year at BRHS. Throughout his life Collin was always welcoming, energetic and a social butterfly involving himself wherever he could. He loved his family vacations that took place in Maine all the way down to North Carolina. Collin loved being outdoors whether he was on the water fishing or boating or on a mountaintop skiing. Collin is survived by his mother, Elsa & father, Douglas Zavoda. He is also survived by his brother, Mitchell, grandparents, John & Christina Zavoda. His extended family includes Aunts and Uncles, Anastasia and Kevin Gallagher, Melissa and Christopher Mastroly, Lee and Gene Breitbart, Susan Brown and cousins, Emily, Catherine, Robert, Kaitlyn, Matthew, Zachary and Carson. 

Visiting hours will be held from 4-8PM on Monday, June 17, 2024 at Blessed Sacrament Church, 1890 Washington Valley Road, Martinsville, NJ 08836. Funeral services will be private. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Bridgewater Funeral Home, 707 East Main Street, Bridgewater, NJ 08807.
