Claudette Lyola Earl, 90
Cherished Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, and Friend
Bridgewater, NJ — Claudette Earl passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 16, 2025, at Morristown Medical Center, surrounded by the love and presence of her family. She was 90 years old.
Born and raised in Belleville, NJ, over her lifetime Claudette lived in California, then Parsippany, NJ, enjoyed six cherished years raising her family in Thiensville, Wisconsin, and later returned to New Jersey—settling first in Millington and ultimately in Bridgewater.
Claudette was the proud and devoted matriarch of her family. A loving wife, mother, grandmother, and recent great-grandmother, she built her life around the joys of home, family, and connection. In addition to her role as a homemaker, she enjoyed a long and fulfilling career as an executive administrator, most notably with AT&T, where her professionalism and dedication left a lasting impression.
“Claude”, as she was lovingly known, stayed engaged and independent as was evident in the things she loved: family gatherings, cooking & eating out, shopping, reading, and travel. She especially adored her time at the Jersey Shore, frequent visits to New York City and Martha’s Vineyard, and nightly dates with Alex Trebek playing Jeopardy. In her earlier years, she enjoyed tennis & biking and appreciated the simple joy of driving right up until her passing. Her young spirit & style, mental sharpness, friendly nature and warmth touched the lives of all who knew her. She was a class act.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Lawrence Earl, and her baby granddaughter, Rachel Earl.
Claudette leaves behind a legacy of love and strength in her children: her son, Dr. Russell S. Earl; her daughters, Cindy Knowles and her husband, Weston, and Stephanie Earl and her husband, Fred Wunderlich. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Anachrista Best and her husband, Sam; Faith Earl & fiancé Matthew Bevilacqua; Emma Earl & fiancé Vincent Gigante Jr.; Ashley Knowles Tye and her husband Andrew; and Trevor Knowles & fiancé Lauren Hennelly, along with her great-grandson, Leo Brett Tye. And of course her beloved Maltese Buttercup.
Her family and friends will miss her deeply and hold her memory close to their hearts.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Bridgewater Funeral Home, 707 East Main Street, Bridgewater, NJ 08807. A funeral service will take place at 5:30PM.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Tunnel to Towers Foundation, honoring Claudette’s spirit of care and generosity.
