Catherine Vaccaro

Middlesex- Catherine Vaccaro, 96, died peacefully on Sunday, February 20, 2022 at her home. Daughter of the late Steven and Katherine Ceccato, Catherine was born in New Philadelphia, Ohio and moved to Bound Brook at the age of 5. She lived in Bound Brook until she married, then moved to Middlesex in 1951. She was a 1943 graduate of Bound Brook High School. In her earlier years after high school, she worked as a legal secretary and switchboard operator in NYC during WWII. She met the love of her life, Michael Vaccaro, while working at the Coca Cola Company. She enjoyed spending time with her family and going on trips and having dinners out with them. Some of her favorite hobbies with playing the organ, doing crossword puzzles, taking trips to Atlantic City and playing the slot machines,  and especially reading Harlequin Romance novels. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her and in addition, will be remembered for her outstanding memory she had, right on up to her passing. Catherine was predeceased by her beloved husband of 68 years, Michael L. Vaccaro, Sr. in 2019; brothers, John, Max, Eugene and Joseph. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her beloved  children, Michael L. Vaccaro, Jr. of Middlesex, Edward J. Vaccaro and his wife, Connie, of Kingwood Twp. and Carol Notarfrancesco and husband, Michael of Aberdeen; 6 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren; and her devoted caregiver, Yami Rivera-Lopez.

Visiting hours will be from 2-4PM & 7-9PM on Thursday, February 24, 2022 at the Bridgewater Funeral Home, 707 East Main Street, Bridgewater, NJ 08807. Prayers will be said 9AM, on Friday, February 25, 2022 at the funeral home followed by a 10AM funeral mass at St. Joseph Church in Bound Brook. Entombment will be held at Resurrection Cemetery in Piscataway.
