DUE TO WEATHER, SERVICES HAVE BEEN CHANGED TO SATURDAY, JANUARY 13, FROM 1-3PM.
Carol Joan MacFadden Sorcinelli, born on September 6, 1952, passed away at her home in Edison, New Jersey on December 17, 2023. Carol was married to Navy serviceman Louis Sorcinelli, who predeceased her. She is survived by her beloved daughter Cherlyn Acquista, son-in-law Cory, and grandchildren Laila and Salvatore. Her family was the focus of her love. Carol received a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from the State University of New York at Albany. Carol had an extensive career as a highly respected Executive Assistant, beginning at Hilton Reservation Service and continuing at several school superintendent’s offices including Roselle, Essex County, Princeton, Linden and Elizabeth. Carol was a person of positive spirit and motivation. Her laugh was contagious, embracing and never at anyone’s expense. Carol was unconditional in accepting everyone as they are. She lived her own life each day as a gift.
Carol cultivated family traditions and shared stories with much detail to honor and preserve past generations. She was an avid reader and poet, whose selected words captured the emotion or moment at hand. Carol always had time to listen to family, friends, or a stranger, and offer her hand in friendship. She was the “glue” bonding people and relationships, as well as
being the steadfast support in everyone’s corner. Our paths together may have parted, but our hearts are forever linked. This is her legacy to all fortunate to have walked side by side with Carol as connected “life lines.”
A memorial will be held at the Bridgewater Funeral Home (707 Main Street, Bridgewater, NJ) on Saturday, January 13, 2024 from 1-3PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Carol’s name to Planned Parenthood, Wounded Warrior Project or Doctors Without Borders.
