Carol A. Palmer

Carol A. Palmer, 82, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 6, 2026, with her loving family by her side.

Born in Orange, New Jersey, to the late Peter and Eleanor Porsavage, Carol was raised in Orange before moving to Fanwood in 1968 to start her home and raise her loving family. In 1978, she settled in Bridgewater, NJ where she continued to raise her family throughout her life.

Carol's greatest joy was caring for others. Her love and unwavering support for her family carried over into her career, where she became a well-known and beloved teacher and babysitter. She took great pride in helping to nurture and raise the many children whose lives she touched over the years, leaving a lasting impression on generations of families.

In her free time, Carol enjoyed cooking, bargain hunting, and traveling to the beach, especially along the Jersey Shore. She also cherished gathering with her former colleagues and friends for "Happy Hour," where laughter, conversation, and lifelong friendships were always shared. She will be remembered for her warm heart, generous spirit, quick smile, and the love she gave so freely to those around her.

Carol was predeceased by her beloved husband, John Palmer, Sr., who passed away in 2003, and by her cherished daughter, Stacy Lynn Schechter, who passed away in March 2026.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her devoted son, John Palmer, Jr., and his wife, Regina; her five beloved grandchildren, Jake, Alex, Kyle (Carly), Ryan, and Zachary; her treasured great-granddaughter, Nora; and many extended family members, friends, and the countless children and families whose lives she enriched through her kindness and care.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during visitation from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 9, 2026, at Bridgewater Funeral Home, 707 East Main Street, Bridgewater, New Jersey 08807. A funeral service will be held at 6:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Cremation will be private.
