Carol Kist, 87, of South Bound Brook, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, at RWJ University Hospital in Somerville.

Born in Jersey City, Carol was the daughter of the late Arthur and Jeanette Elliott. She grew up in Roselle Park before settling in South Bound Brook, where she lived for many years. A devoted homemaker, Carol took great pride in caring for her family and home.

She loved traveling with her late husband, Garrit,  and they enjoyed attending Navy reunions together. Carol also found joy in gardening, working in her yard, and, most importantly, spending time with her grandchildren, who were the light of her life.

In addition to her husband, who passed away in 2014, Carol was predeceased by her brother, Curtis Elliott.

She leaves behind her loving children: Wayne Kist of South Bound Brook; Gary Kist and his wife Carol of Pennsylvania; Donna Todaro and her husband Dominick of Bridgewater; and Lisa Chiocchi and her husband Gary of South Bound Brook. She will also be dearly missed by her cherished grandchildren — Jolene, Gary, Justina, Gina, Gregory, Anthony, Shelby, Dominick, and Alexa — as well as her six great-grandchildren and her beloved little companion, “Puppy.”

Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at Bridgewater Funeral Home, 707 East Main Street, Bridgewater, NJ 08807. Funeral services will take place at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, at the funeral home, followed by interment at Van Liew Cemetery in North Brunswick.
