Carol Jean Decker
October 12, 1939 – January 7, 2021
Carol Jean Decker, of Bridgewater, NJ died Thursday, January 7, 2021 at RWJ Hospital in Somerset after an unexpected illness.
Born in Shamokin, PA, October 12, 1939, to Donald and Madelon Weaver. She worked hard to raise three boys as a single mother. She would give a look and they listened. Retired in 2002 from Johnson and Johnson. Although she endured several medical issues in her life, she made the best out of every situation. She was fortunate to have supportive friends and caretakers who truly cared for her.
Carol loved picnics, reunions, parties, playing boardgames with her grandchildren, and just spending time with her family and friends. She enjoyed trips to Atlantic City and playing her hand-held poker machine. She is reunited with family members right now and engaging in a long-awaited poker card game.
She is predeceased by her father and mother, Donald and Medelon Weaver; Sister Donna Limbach. Survived by her three sons, Steve Hand and (John Gerace): Kimber and (Gabrielle) Decker; Paul and (Sharon) Decker; Brother Paul and (Elaine) Weaver. She also leaves behind her four cherished grandchildren: Matthew, Kendall, Makenna and Claudia Decker along with loving nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews; and a great great niece.
She will truly be missed by her lifelong best friend Madeline Tamm. They were friends for 60 years and never had a fight.
A graveside service will beheld 10AM on Thursday, January 14, 2021 at Franklin Memorial Park, 1800 Lincoln Highway, North Brunswick, NJ 08902.
In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Eastern Star Home. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Bridgewater Funeral Home, 707 East Main Street, Bridgewater, NJ 08807.
