Carlos Nola Obituary

Carlos Osvaldo Nola, 78, of Bridgewater, NJ, passed away on November 28, 2024 after battling Alzheimer’s and a cardiac condition for many years.

Carlos is survived by his loving wife, Rosa Nola; his two daughters, Adriana Trout and Beatriz Stange; his two sons-in-law, Brett Trout and Rod Stange; his six granddaughters, Alexandra Toner, Madison Stange, Shyanne Stange, Brooke Stange, Samantha Trout, and Daniela Trout; and two grandsons-in-law, Trent Toner and Alexander McCarthy. He also leaves behind two brothers, Francisco Nola and Julio Jose Nola and one sister, Marta Rovitto.

Carlos was born on July 9, 1946 in a small suburb of Buenos Aires, Argentina. He was the third born son of Guiseppe and Angela Nola. He lived with his two older brothers, Francisco and Julio and younger brother, Roberto, and younger sisters, Marta and Mirta. Since Carlos could walk, he has kicked a soccer ball.  He was privileged to play professionally for a few years for Chacarita Juniors soccer team in Argentina.

His love for soccer prompted Carlos to move to the United States in 1970 in the hopes to play professionally for a US team. He played for many private clubs. Even though his dreams of playing soccer did not come true, he met the love of his life, Rosa Gonzalez, while living in Plainfield, NJ. They married in May of 1972. They proceeded to have two daughters, Adriana and Beatriz within the first two years of marriage. Carlos worked for GAF in South Bound Brook  which caused him to move to Bound Brook, NJ. He and his family lived in Bound Brook for 20 years. During this time, Carlos changed jobs a few times and eventually ended up as receiving manager for The Home Depot.

Through his tenure at The Home Depot, Carlos worked in several locations, including South Plainfield, NJ; Clarksville, IN; Louisville, KY; and Charleston, SC. After the birth of his identical triplet granddaughters, Carlos and Rosa decided to move back to NJ so they could spoil the girls.  He retired from the Flemington, NJ Home Depot in 2015 after over 23 years of loyal service.

Despite being a faithful employee, Carlos’ main focus and joy was his family. He worked very hard throughout his life to ensure his family was always clothed and well-fed.  His greatest joy, however, was his six granddaughters.  After their birth, Carlos became a very doting grandfather.  His experience as a grandfather made him even more patient and loving. He was affectionately called Nonno, which is Italian for Grandpa. This was a smart choice, because his name was the first name said by all of the girls. His grand-daughters gave him an exceeding amount of joy up until the end.

After his retirement, Carlos was able to focus on his spirituality.  He began studying the Bible and started sharing the good news with his neighbors.

We look forward to seeing Carlos again when he is resurrected in paradise. As Revelation 21:3,4 brings out, we look forward to a time when death will be no more and sickness will be long gone.  We love you, Nonno.
