Bretton Boxwell Obituary

Bretton Tyler Boxwell

Raritan- Bretton Boxwell, 50, died on Monday, October 4, 2021 unexpectedly at his home in Raritan.  Brett was born in Plainfield to Clint and Becky (Bush) Boxwell. He was raised in Plainfield and North Plainfield and is formerly of Warren before moving to Raritan with his brother over 20 years ago into the home they renovated together. Brett was employed by Chubb Insurance and Capgemini as a Senior Software Engineer for over 30 years working at their various locations but most recently in Whitehouse Station, NJ.  He also managed many side businesses such as handyman work at various properties, dog and house sitting, and snow plowing.

In his spare time, Brett enjoyed spending time with his close friends hiking, biking, camping, crabbing at the Jersey Shore, playing cards, smoking cigars and drinking coffee by the river in Clinton, Friday night dinners at the local diner, and enjoying all that life had to offer.  He loved watching his niece and nephews grow up and enjoyed spending time with them at holidays and family gatherings and enjoyed working alongside his nephews and close friends setting up the annual Christmas display at one of the properties he managed.

Brett is predeceased by his beloved brother, Clinton M. Boxwell, IV and his beloved mother, Becky Boxwell.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory and mourn his loss his beloved father, Clinton M. Boxwell, III and stepmom Carol of Warren; sister, Megan Schaub and husband, David of Whitehouse Station; cherished nephews and niece, Thomas, Anthony, and Samantha, extended family members who loved him dearly, and many dear and lifelong friends that are devastated by his loss.  He will be especially missed by his sister, Megan, whom he conversed and confided with on an almost daily basis, and the dozens of close friends that were blessed by his good nature and keen sense of humor and loved spending time with him.  Brett was the life of the party and would always make everyone laugh.  He was a good friend and would lend a hand to whomever needed it.  His friends and family are heartbroken by his unexpected and sudden passing.
