Bonita”Bonnie” M. Tietjen
Middlesex- Bonita “Bonnie” M. Tietjen, 69, died peacefully on Wednesday, September 2, 2020 at Haven Hospice at JFK in Edison. Daughter of the late Francis and Phyllis Zatika, Bonnie was born in PA and lived in Maine before moving to Middlesex in 1973. She worked for Ortho-Tibowtec as an administrative assistant retiring in Sept of 2019. Bonnie was a Eucharistic Minister, Altar Rosary Society member and member of the “Happy Hookers” crochet club at Our Lady of Mt. Virgin Church in Middlesex. She also was a former member of the Middlesex Rescue Squad. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her and will always be remembered as a loving wife and mother who special joy in life was her grandchildren. She leaves behind to cherish her memory her beloved husband of 51 years, Deacon John R. Tietjen; children, John Tietjen and wife, Helen, Louis Tietjen and wife, Annie, Thomas Tietjen, and Matthew Tietjen and wife, Katie; siblings, Francis Zatika, Joseph Zatika, Phyllis Haliene, Judy Pignoloso; and 4 grandchildren. Visiting hours will be held from 2-4 and 7-9 PM on Friday, September 4, 2020 at the Bridgewater Funeral Home, 707 East Main Street, Bridgewater, NJ 08807. Prayers will be said 8:30 AM on Saturday, September 5, 2020 at the funeral home followed by a 9:30 AM Mass at Our Lady of Mt. Virgin Church in Middlesex.
