Bill Schocklin

Somerset- Bill Schocklin, 73, passed away on Sunday, July 21, 2024 at RWJ of New Brunswick. Bill was born in Paterson, NJ to the late William and Pauline Schocklin. He was raised in Waldwick, NJ and moved to New Brunswick in 1968, where he attended Rutgers College.  Bill graduated in 1972 and then moved to Somerset, which was his home for many years. Bill was employed by University Shell, a service station in New Brunswick, where he later became a partner with his brother Jack and friend Michael Roth.  He retired after over 45 years of service. Bill enjoyed being with his loving family, especially his grandchildren.  The fondest memories with his family include holidays, celebrations, vacations, skiing, hiking, and watching his grandchildren participate in their sports and activities.  He also loved the beach, nature, and gardening.  Bill always had a way of making people laugh and will be remembered for his smile, bright blue eyes, and love for his family.

Bill is survived by siblings; Linda VanDuren, Jack Schocklin and his wife Janice, and Janis Soferr and her husband Shimon.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving children; Stephen Schocklin and his wife Tobey, Scott Schocklin and his wife Karen, and Susan Salles and her husband Jeffrey, former spouse Nancy Schocklin, and grandchildren; Julia, Zachary, Gavin, and Kayla Schocklin, and Joey Salles.

Visiting hours will be held from 3-7PM on Monday, July 29th, 2024 at the Bridgewater Funeral Home, 707 East Main Street, Bridgewater, NJ 08807.
