Beatriz Villanueva-Perez

Beatriz Villanueva of Somerset, NJ, formerly of Isabela, PR and Bound Brook, NJ, died peacefully on Saturday, June 1, 2024, at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Somerset surrounded by her family after a long battle with kidney disease.  She was 82 years old.  She was the daughter of the late Manuel Perez and Nicasia Ruiz. Beatriz was born in Puerto Rico and lived most of her life in Bound Brook. She was a homemaker and a devout Catholic. Beatriz was a spirited woman who cherished her family above all and loved to cook. Over the years she cared for and helped raise many of her younger siblings, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Beatriz is predeceased by her parents Manuel Perez and Nicasia Ruiz, her brother Rodrigo Perez, her husband Zenon Villanueva and her beloved son, Roberto P. Villanueva.

She is survived by her beloved son, Francisco J. Villanueva (Lori); grandchildren, Shannon L. Villanueva, Katie Cassebaum, Nancy Heredia-Villanueva (Thurman), Cristina M. Villanueva, Fransisco Villanueva, Jr., Angel L. Villanueva (Jennifer), Ciara M. Villanueva, Roberto Villanueva, Jr.; great-grandchildren, Alina G. Villanueva, Brielle B. Villanueva, Prince E. Villanueva, Sofia E. Villanueva, Cayden Q. Villanueva,  Antonio J. Griffin, Howard L. Griffin and Lilliana D. Stout. She was also expecting her 9th great-grandchild and 1st great-great-grandchild later this year. She is also survived by her siblings Santa Bermontiz, Carmen M. Perez, Carmen L. Cardona, Mariano Perez, Segundo Perez, Margarita McIntosh, Clara Velez, Doris Suarez, Ana Carides, Gloria Labanda and many additional cherished family members of the Perez and Villanueva Families.

Visiting hours will be held from 4–7PM on Wednesday, June 5, 2024, at the Bridgewater Funeral Home, 707 East Main Street, Bridgewater, NJ 08807. Prayers will be said 9AM on Thursday, June 6, 2024, at the funeral home followed by a 10AM Mass at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, Mountain Avenue & E. High Street Bound Brook, NJ 08805. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Piscataway, NJ.
