Barry Brisacone Sr. Obituary

Barry Michael Brisacone Sr., lovingly known as “Sonny” to his family and friends, passed away peacefully at his home in Martinsville, NJ, on April 24, 2025, at the age of 90.

Born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, Barry was the treasured son of the late Frank and Linda Brisacone. From 1955 to 1957, he proudly served in the United States Army. Early in his career at Con Edison, he met Angelina—the love of his life. Together, they built a warm and loving home in the Bay Terrace neighborhood of Staten Island, where they spent over fifty wonderful years before beginning a new chapter in Martinsville, NJ.

Barry’s career in public service continued as a dedicated detective with the NYPD’s 60th Precinct in Coney Island, a position he held with pride for twenty years. During that time, he also earned a bachelor’s degree from the New York Institute of Technology. After retiring from the police force, he embarked on a successful second career at Remco, Inc. in New York City, where he served as Vice President and General Manager of the Metal Division until his retirement in 1997.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Angelina; his brother, John Brisacone; and his half-sister, Grace Brisacone. He is survived by his devoted children, Barry Brisacone, Jr. and his wife Jacqueline of New York, and Andrea Attanasio and her husband Daniel of Martinsville. He was a proud grandfather to Justine, Alexandra, Barry, Ashley, Amber, Daniella, and Paige, and a loving great-grandfather to Dean, Natalie, Gabriella, Jonathan, Luca, Sofia, Anthony, and Olivia.

Barry was loved by all who knew him. Known for his easygoing nature, he had a remarkable memory and a gift for storytelling—always eager to share cherished moments from the past. He will be remembered for his warmth, patience, calm demeanor, and unwavering loyalty to those he held close.

He found joy in life’s simple pleasures—playing a round of golf, sketching and painting, tinkering around the house, enjoying a lively card game, solving crossword puzzles, or savoring a quiet moment with solitaire on his phone. A devoted sports fan throughout his life, he especially loved cheering on the Mets.

Barry’s legacy of love, strength, and steadfast character will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
