Barbara W. Forbes

Barbara W. Forbes, 75, passed away peacefully on Sunday March 16, 2025. Barbara was born on November 12, 1949 in Dobre, Poland and moved to the United States in 1958 where spent her youth in Bound Brook, NJ. After graduating from Bound Brook High School and Trenton State College, she married Robert, moved to Hillsborough and became a mother of three children. Many people knew her as a beloved teacher at Christ the King School where she taught for over 20 years. Barbara loved gardening, taking vacations and enjoyed a good book while sitting on the beach. She had a gift for making everyone feel heard and valued, and she cherished the conversations she shared with those around her - whether it be with a neighbor, friend or some random person sitting next to her on a bench at an amusement park.

In her retirement years, she loved spending time with her family and helping out with her grandchildren. She was very proud of her Polish heritage and enjoyed passing on family traditions and customs to her children and grandchildren. Barabara will be remembered as an unwavering mother, Babci, Ciocia, sister, cousin, friend and teacher to those who were lucky enough to have known her. 
She is predeceased by her husband of 39 years, Robert, her parents, Chester and Genevieve Wawrzycki and her brother, John Wawrzycki. Surviving are her children, son Matthew Sr. and wife Danielle of Washington, NJ, son Michael and wife Lauren of Cinnaminson, NJ, daughter Kaitlin and husband Ralph of Ringtown, PA, 6 adored grandchildren, Matthew Jr., Kasey, Madison, Natalie, David and Olivia, her sister and brother-in-law, Terry and John Henderson of Calgary, Canada. 

Visiting hours will be held from 4-7PM on Thursday, March 20, 2025 at the Bridgewater Funeral Home, 707 E. Main Street, Bridgewater, NJ 08807. Prayers will be said 9AM on Friday, March 21, 2025 at the funeral home followed by a 10AM Mass at Mary Mother of God Church in Hillsborough. Burial will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery.
