Arlyne Dentz Obituary

Arlyne J. Dentz

Somerville- Arlyne Grace Johnson Dentz, 88, passed away Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at her home in Somerville, NJ with her husband by her side. Born in Jersey City, NJ to the late Elmore and Madeline Johnson, she was raised in Somerville and spent 20 years of retirement in Sanibel Island, FL before returning to Somerville in 2014. She was a Somerville High School graduate, Class of 1947. She attended the Barbizon School of Modeling in NYC.  Arlyne was employed at Suburban Propane, The Courier News and was a bank secretary for many years at NJ Savings Bank in Whitehouse, NJ.  She was a member of the Sanibel Community Church. Fond memories include her laughter (described in her HS yearbook as “Laughing the Blues Away”), her hospitality and her love of baking, especially Gramma’s crumby apple pie.  Arlyne enjoyed singing hymns, playing cards and traveling throughout the USA, but more importantly, time spent with family and friends.

She was predeceased by her sister, Marion Cornelia and son-in-law, Michael Osinski. Cherishing her memory are her loving husband of over 67 years, Franklin Dentz; daughters, Kathy Keith and husband Dean, and Connie Osinski; grandchildren, Kelly Keith, Rebecca Hortenstine and husband Chad, Jamie Case and husband Chris, Geoffrey and Stephen Osinski.

A memorial service will be arranged at a later date. Arrangements were entrusted to Bridgewater Funeral Home, 707 East Main Street, Bridgewater, NJ 08807
