Arlene M. Potts

Middlesex- Arlene M. Potts, 86, died peacefully on Thursday, August 10, 2023. Daughter of the late John and Angelina Scuorzo, Arlene was born and raised in Newark, NJ, and then moved to Springfield, NJ when she was a senior at Jonathan Dayton Regional High School. She lived in Springfield, NJ until she was married, and then moved to Elizabeth, before moving to Middlesex in 1972. Arlene worked for Jay R. Smith as a telephone operator and then went to work in customer service for Elizabethtown Water Company in Bound Brook until her retirement in 2002. She found the most joy in her life working in her garden and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.  She was predeceased by her siblings, John Scuorzo, Jr. and Joann Wood. She leaves behind to cherish her memory her beloved husband, Leroy E. Potts; children, Marialaine Potts, Aprilann Potts, Richard Potts and wife, Julia, all of Middlesex; grandchildren, Taylor Rose Potts and Nicholas Potts; siblings, Elaine Zink and husband, Richard, and Jerry Scuorzo. Visiting hours will be held from 3-7 PM on Tuesday, August 15, 2023 at the Bridgewater Funeral Home, 707 East Main Street, Bridgewater, NJ 08807. Prayers will be said 9AM on Wednesday, August 16, 2023 at the funeral home followed by a 10AM Mass at Our Lady of Mt. Virgin Church in Middlesex. Entombment will follow at Hollywood Memorial Park in Union.
