Amelia Zito

Somerset - Amelia Zito, 95,  passed away on Tuesday, April 4, 2023 at RWJ of Somerset with her family by her side. Amelia was born in Rosebank, Staten Island, NY to the late Antonio and Laura Sanza. She is formerly of Dongan Hills, Staten Island before moving to Somerset in 2018. Amelia was employed for Standard Charter Bank in Manhattan as a benefit payroll human resources assistant treasurer, retiring in 1985. She was a member of the Grandmothers Club 899 in Staten Island, where she was also treasurer. In her spare time, she enjoyed volunteering at Staten Island Hospital. She will be greatly missed by family and friends.

She is predeceased by her husband, Ferdinand Zito, who passed in 2022; and brother, Donato Sanza. 

Amelia leaves behind to cherish her memory her loving children, Barbara Costa and husband, Dominick of MD, Fred Zito of Somerset; and granddaughter, Danielle Costa; sister, Anna Maiello of Pompton Plains. 

Visitation will be held from 9-10AM, on Wednesday, April 12, 2023 at the Bridgewater Funeral Home, 707 E. Main St., Bridgewater, NJ 08807 followed by a 10:30Am funeral Mass at St. Mary of Czestochowa Church in Bound Brook. Entombment will be held at Resurrection Cemetery in Piscataway.
