Robert A. "PH/ Pumpkinhead" Diaz-
Robert Diaz, the rapper who went by Pumpkinhead and was a frequent presence at rap competitions in New York City’s underground hip-hop scene, died Tuesday morning, June 9, 2015 at age 39.
Diaz got his start as a Brooklyn, New York rapper in the underground scene before emerging as a successful artist in the ‘90s.
Diaz was featured on his albums Revolutionary 1 and Revolutionary 2. He released his own album, Orange Moon Over Brooklyn in 2005. His latest album was 2011’s Know the Ledge.
His song “Dynamic,” which was released in the late ‘90s, really put Diaz on the map, making its way on to The World Famous Beat Junkies mixtape in 1998.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his beloved wife, Shawntay Ocasio; mother, Jennie Diaz; sons, Raiden Diaz , Royce Michael Diaz, sister, Orion Nolan and husband Kalief; niece, Isabel Nolan; aunt, Aida L. Diaz; and cousin Anton D. Namit.
Funeral arrangemnets were private and entrusted to the Bridgewater Funeral Home, 707 East Main Street, Bridgewater, NJ 08807.
