Bridgewater
Philip Simon, 91, passed away on Friday, October 4, 2019. Philip was born in Kearny to the late Edward and Helen Simon and resided in Livingston for over 63 years, before moving to Bridgewater 3 years ago. Phil was employed by Kraft Food in Hillside and worked as a warehouse supervisor for 35 years, retiring in 1979. After leaving Kraft, Phil worked with a florist delivering flowers for over 10 years and enjoyed bringing smiles to people’s faces.
Phil was an active member of Livingston Old Guard and was a regular in volunteering at the Hillside Food Bank. He also enjoyed watching sports, listening to music, vacationing at the beach, and spending time with his family. Phil was an avid New York Yankees and Giants fan.
He is predeceased by his sister, Phyllis Schmidt.
Philip leaves behind to cherish his memory, his loving wife of over 67 years, Nancy Simon; children, Judith Wilkinson and husband, Clifford, and James Simon and wife, Tracy; grandchildren, Brian, David, and wife, Meghan, and Caitlin Wilkinson and fiancé, Spenser Brenn, and Timothy and Courtney Simon; great grandchildren, Paige and Delaney Wilkinson, and siblings, Joan Schmidt, Carole Niesz and husband, John, and Robert Simon and Uncle Phil to many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 3-7PM on Thursday, October 10, 2019 at the Bridgewater Funeral Home, 707 E. Main St., Bridgewater, NJ 08807. Funeral services will be held at 10AM, on Friday, October 11, 2019, at The Presbyterian Church of Livingston, 271 W. Northfield Rd, Livingston, NJ 07039. Burial will follow at Restland Memorial Park.
