Martinsville- Lawrence H. Earl, 79, passed away on Saturday, January 21, 2012 at Bridgeway Care Center in Bridgewater after a long illness. Born in Newark to the late Lorenzo and Rose Earl, Larry lived in Martinsville prior to moving to Bridgeway Care Center. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He graduated from Farleigh Dickenson University with a Bachelors degree in Industrial Management and was a member of the IEEE. Larry was Vice President of Operations for 25 years at the Elastimold Divison of Amerace Corporation in Hackettstown.
Larry was known as the "Six Million Dollar Man" for his long and courageous fight against cancer and Parkinson's disease- he was an inspiration to all who knew him. He was an avid golfer, a Yankee and Giants fan and loved dining out with family and friends.
He is predeceased by his baby granddaughter Rachel Earl. Larry leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife Claudette Lyola Earl; sons Dr. Lawrence N. Earl and wife Dolores Dunne and Dr. Russell S. Earl; daughters Cindy Knowles and husband Weston and Stephanie Earl and husband Fred Wunderlich; grandchildren Nicholas Earl, Lauren Earl, Alanna Earl, Ashley Knowles, Trevor Knowles, Anachrista Earl, Faith Earl and Emma Earl.
Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, January 25, 2012 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the Bridgewater Funeral Home, 707 East Main Street, Bridgewater NJ 08807. Prayers will be said 9 AM on Thursday, January 26, 2012 at the Funeral Home, followed by a 10 AM Mass at Blessed Sacrament Church in Martinsville.
