Janet Marie Jenison (Pankratz) died October 18, 2019 in Bridgewater, NJ at the age of 80.
Jenison was born Dec. 24, 1938 to Marie Pankratz (Peterson), and Reinhold Pankratz in Harlem, Montana. She was the oldest of ten children. In May, 1957 Janet graduated from Great Falls high school and was married the following weekend to Jimmy Jenison from Missouri who she met when he was working with a traveling harvest crew in 1954. She and Jimmy celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on May 31, 2017.
In 1982 Jimmy and Janet adopted their daughter, Anita Barkei (Jenison).
Through her life Janet held a range of jobs including waitress, expert seamstress, farm wife and mother. She took care of several people in her home and was most admired for her strong work ethic and care and concern for others. She was an active, service-oriented member of the Worldwide Church of God and later the Philadelphia Church of God.
Janet was preceded in death by her mother and father, younger sister Betty Dahl Covely (Pankratz), and husband Jimmy. She is survived by her daughter, Anita Barkei (Jenison), son-in-law, Nathan Barkei and grandchildren, Jonathan and Laurel who she lived with the last month of her life. Janet brought great joy to all who knew her.
A visitation will be held from 12noon to 2PM on Sunday, Nov. 10, 2019, at the Bridgewater Funeral Home, 707 E. Main St., Bridgewater, NJ 08807, with a memorial service at 12:30PM.
