Bridgewater- Gaetana Mary "Ida" Dudzinski, 84, entered eternal rest peacefully on Wednesday, June 27, 2007 at Somerset Medical Center in Somerville. Daughter of the late Salvatore and Sofia Montalto, Ida was born in Lawrence, Mass. and lived in Raritan before moving to Bridgewater 53 years ago.
Ida was a postal worker for the Postal Supply Depot in Somerville for 36 years retiring in 1979.
She was a communicant of Immaculate Conception Church in Somerville; a member of the Immaculate Conception Altar Rosary Society; Past President and member of the Somerville Columbiettes; Past President and member of the Bridgewater Senior Citizens; instrumental in the groundbreaking of the Bridgewater Senior Building; member of the Finderne Rescue Squad. Many will remember Ida as the organizer of many trips: culminating in being recognized as a community leader within every organization, excelling within each.
Ida was a kind and caring person who will be sadly missed by her family and the many friends she made while being involved in her numerous activities. Ida will be remembered for her time spent volunteering and helping others.
Ida is predeceased by her husband Augustus Dudzinski in 2001. She leaves behind to cherish her memory her loving sons and their wives: Michael and Lisa of Edmond, OK; Stephen and Janet of Lincroft; her sisters: Mae Gandolfo of Hillsborough; Vin Just of Marco Island; Fl. And her cherished grandchildren: Kevin, Kaitlyn, Brian, Stephanie, Michael, Carissa and Elizabeth.
Prayers will be said on Saturday at the funeral home at 8:30am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Immaculate Conception Church in Somerville at 9:30am. Ida will be entombed at St. Bernard's Cemetery in Bridgewater. Visiting hours will be held on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9pm at the Bridgewater Funeral Home, 707 East Main Street, Bridgewater, NJ 08807.
