Biography

Catherine Veglatte, 88, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, February 6, 2010 at the Somerset Medical Center in Somerville, NJ. She was born in Piscataway, NJ and was raised in South Planfield before moving to North Plainfield. Catherine has been a resident of Bridgewater for almost forty years.

Catherine served her country during World War II in the US Army. She was a member of the Bridgewater Senior Citizens.

Catherine was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister. She was the daughter of the late Nicholas and Antionette Crisafulli, the wife of the late John Veglatte, Sr, mother of the late John Veglatte, Jr. Catherine is is survived by her son Joseph Veglatte and his wife Mary Ann, of Manville, her daughters Linda Parrish and her companion Carmen Ocello. of Bridgewater, NJ, and Shirley Veglatte, of Franklin Park, NJ, her grandchildren Alissa, Anthony, Nicholas, Cheryl, Joseph John and Matthew Leon, her great granddaughter Caitlyn and her brothers, Joseph Crisafulli, of Piscataway, NJ and Albert Grassifulli of Fanwood, NJ.

Visitation will take place at the Bridgewater Funeral Home, 707 East Main Street, Bridgewater on Tuesday, February 9, 2010 from 2-4 & 7-9pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mary of Czestochowa RC Church, Bound Brook on Thursday, February 11, 2010 at 10AM. Interment will take place in St. Vincent de Paul Cemetery in Sterling, NJ.
