Gregory "Greg" DeStefano Jr., age 16, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday morning January 30, 2008 in the city of Lewistown, PA.

Greg was born on December 15, 1991 in Flemington, NJ to parents Gregory DeStefano of Whitehouse and Tina Bailey of Lewistown. He was a sophmore at Hunterdon Central Regional High School; who enjoyed playing football, wrestling, skatebording and fishing. But most of all, he loved hanging out with his friends in Flemington.

Greg leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving father, Greg; twin brother, Vinnie; sisters, Jaime and Jill; niece, Lilyana; and nephew, Jackson. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Vincent and Arline DeStefano.

Greg was the beloved son of Tina; loving brother of Jason, Justin and Timmy; caring uncle of Cameron, T.J, Chase, and Desiree; and cherished grandson of Shirley and Timothy McConnell.

Greg was a handsome, loving young man who was philosophical and wise beyond his years. Greg was the protector; always taking care of someone else and putting his family and friends first. He was like a brother to everyone who knew him. He was the type of person you could always count on to make you smile. Greg was a real tough guy with a heart of gold, and he will be sadly missed by his family and many friends.

Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday from 7-9 pm and Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the Bridgewater Funeral Home, 707 East Main St. Bridgewater, NJ 08807. Prayers will be said on Thursday at 8:30 am followed by 10:30 Mass at St. Ann's Church in Raritan. Burial will follow at St. Bernard's Cemetary in Bridgewater.

In lieu of flowers, memorial funds have been established in Greg's name for the Mediatech Foundation, 118 Main Street, 2nd floor Flemington, NJ 08822. "Happy Birthday" Baby Boy. I'm trying to imagine what a birthday celebration is like in Heaven. Hugs from Our Heavenly Father and kisses from Angels singing "Happy Birthday" on the harp. The light is so golden you can feel it's warmth and love just fills the air. Is it selfish of me to wish you could be here with me, even though I know what a wonderful place you live in now? It's just because I love you so much, you know? Happy Birthday my baby. I'm sending you birthday kisses through time and space and all the way to Heaven! Love, Mommy

Tina Marie DeStefano
I know all the angels are smiling because you have a way of making that happen everywhere you are. I love you so very, very much Greggie. My heart will never heal. Never. I've been so caught up in my grief that I didn't realize I should be grateful to Our Lord for the time I had you with me, however brief, because it was such a wonderful gift that God gave to us all when he gave us you and we were so lucky to be blessed with you in our life. That is something to Thank God for, honey. I will never understand what God's plan was when he took you home, and nothing will ever ease my pain, but I have taken comfort in realizing that even if just for a short time, I got to have you here with me, because you are so very special sweetheart and you are the true meaning of love. Dance with the Angels baby. I know I'll see your smile again one day. I picture you holding out your hand to me with that loving smile on your face and telling me,"Take my hand now, Mommy. I've been waiting for you. You won't believe how beautiful it is up here!". Your light still shines here, baby.It always will. My little "Baggadonuts", you will always live in Mommy's heart. . .in the hearts of all who know you and love you.

I remember Greg from the countless Pioneer Football games and practices I went to with my son. During his very short time on this earth I know he touched so many lives. Greg will never be far from his family, friends and those who loved him because he will live on in their hearts and minds forever. May Greg and those who shared in his life find peace and comfort.

Even though we cannot comprehend the depth of your sorrow, we are grieved and shocked and cannot find adequate words to express our sympathy. Even though we didn't know Greg all that well, he was always polite and kind when he was here. We will always remember Greg as a great friend to our own son. May the memory of this tragedy soon give way to all the good memories you have stored up and may the goodness Greg lavished on his friends and loved ones be multiplied in the lives of those he's left behind. We hope you will find a small measure of comfort in knowing there are many people who loved Greg. Our prayers are with you and you have our deepest sympathy in this tragic loss.
